Ran over and took care of my friend's animals once the rain let up, then ran some much needed errands, and ended the day watching tonight's episode of Dexter.

Had planned on going to the gym this morning but the gym's parking because a lake when we get and lot of rain and my Vette just doesn't make for a good boat.

I've almost gotten caught up in everything so planning on finally making it to the gym first thing tomorrow and then just another day of the same old.

Speaking of work... switching the default player at the paysites that I manage. Still using the same movie format but going to embed them into a Flash player instead of a QuickTime player. I've setup this test movie to catch any bugs.

We had really hoped on avoiding a lawsuit but with expenses mounting due to this accident I don't think we are going to have a choice. Hopefully the driver had insurance but by the way he looked I'm doubtful that he did.

Got up at sunrise to go over to the wrecker place to release Christine's car to Geico.

Geico was a pure pleasure to deal with. This is my second time dealing with them and both times Geico customer service has been outstanding.

The wrecker place was what you would expect from a wrecker place. They offered to knock a few hundred off the deductible off if they did the repairs. To their credit they had a first rate repair facility with all the latest stuff that was full of high end cars having major damage repaired. What wasn't so good was how shady they got when we decided to let Geico do the repairs. Things like losing the car key, delaying the release with paperwork red tape, bad mouthing Geico, and just making themselves seem completely untrustworthy. Geico didn't have anything good to say about them either.

Not sure if the car is totaled or not. They started stripping it down already and actually it doesn't look so bad under the external panels. We should know in a day or so if it will be total loss or not. She is really happy that I talked her into getting gap insurance as she is upside down in her loan just in case it does turn out to be totaled.

Geico gave her a PT Cruiser at a great rate that is costing her next to nothing after her coverage pays their part and even is extending her coverage if the repairs take longer then what her policy covers. They did the same thing when I had my accident so I guess it is standard practice for them.

She is really sore all over and still kind of out of it so went to the doctor today who naturally sent her to get a xray and a cat scan. My cynical side figures the doctors want to milk this for all that they can but I am happy that she is getting checked out.

The weather people said it was going to be sunny and nice today so naturally it rained off and on most of the day. Why is it that this little home projects always end up costing way more then planned and usually involve multiple trips to Home Depot?

The worst part, aside from costing money better spent on something like shoes, is that each time I go there I end up seeing something that gives me an idea for something else around the house that I want to do.

Bought more paint and one of those paint mixer things that go in a drill plus another roller. While I was there I looked at what I would need to turn another one of these huge planters into another bench on the side of the macaw's cage.

It has been raining on and off today so waiting for better weather to finish our little painting project.

Spent most of the afternoon working and then when the sun got low in the sky went up on the roof with my partner to paint the flat part of our roof with Silver Dollar roof paint.

Painting a flat roof seemed like it would be easy enough, just pour out some paint and use a roller to spread it around.

Naturally nothing is ever as easy as it seems. The paint was unmixed with a hard mass at the bottom of the bucket that really needed something more then using a big stick to mix it up. Not having anything except a big stick we did manage to mix the first bucket up good enough to use but on the second bucket we never did manage to get it completely mixed so tomorrow I will be going back to Home Depot to buy one of those things that you stick in a drill for mixing paint.

Also it seems that 15 gallons of paint isn't going to be enough since we got just over a third of the roof painted but only have 5 gallons left so going to be picking up another 5 gallons of paint plus another paint roller since there wasn't really anyway of cleaning the one that we used.

We both got pretty much covered in roof paint and had to scrub each other down with Goof Off in the shower which was kind of surreal.
