The other day I tried to fire up my generator only to find that the gas in its tank had gone bad. Luckily I had emptied the carburetor before storing it so after draining its tank and putting in fresh gas it started right up. Now I have to figure out how to dispose of 7 gallons of bad gas. Still have to stock up on gas for this tear's hurricane season.

At least some good is coming out of the recession, Financial strains in some Catholic congregations, and the movement of many families to the suburbs, may force the closing of 14 churches. I wonder what it would take to close all the churches? Imagine a world without religion...

There is a new movie coming out called Surrogates looks interesting.

Watched the movie Doomsday with friends last night. I think this review said it best. "It starts out as some kind of John Woo super cop movie. Then it's Outbreak. Then It's 28days later. Then it's Aliens, The Warriors, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Then shift gears, suddenly I'm watching Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Gladiator and Road Warrior? This is action on top of action on top of violence on top of a moving car. It's castles and knights and everything exploding when you shoot it."

This last week has flown by. Between cleaning up my lesbian category over at Cleo's Links and beta testing a program called Thinking Home I've lost all track of time this week. It's Sunday night and I can barely remember the last week or so.

Been testing software for a software developer the last few days.

I use X10 Commander on my iPhone to control the X10 devices in my home but the server part of it is Windows only so I run this one program on a Mac mini under Parallels. I also run Thinking Home on another Mac to program a X10 controller so I got the developers of each program to work together and add support for X10 Commander to the Thinking Home software. Trouble is the developer of X10 Commander doesn't have a Mac and the developer of Thinking Home doesn't have an iPhone so I get to be the tester for all of this. Good news is it looks like a working finished Mac solution is almost debugged and ready for everyday use.

Speaking of testing... Had to go this morning to my doctor to go get poked, prodded and have my blood sucked. While I was there I asked about the pain I've been having from this bullet that is in my back. He took a x-ray to send to a colleague but other than more x-rays and a MRI with the possibility of surgery to remove the bullet not much can be done about it. He gave a script for some pain pills which I'm sure I'll enjoy but hopefully it will stop bothering me after a few weeks like it usually does.

Besides getting a physical this morning it has just been a day of work and testing X10 software.

I didn't think the Terminator movie would be as bad as the critics were saying but actually I think it was even worse.

Christy couldn't finish it and lefty to walk around the mall but I stayed hoping it would get better and wanting to know how it ended. It just kept on getting worse and worse and the ending was just plain stupid.

Even Star Trek wasn't this bad and it was pretty bad but at least it wasn't annoying the way Terminator was.

Rain, rain, and even more rain.
Would love to get in some beach time but it's another rainy day although the sun did peek out for a bit yesterday. Weather for tomorrow is more rain. Did I mention it's the start of our rainy season?

Pretty much nothing to do in this awful weather we are having this holiday weekend other than to go to the gym and invite friends over to watch movies.

Watched Powwow Highway last night. It was a bit like Smokey and The Bandit meets Cheech and Chong. Today we watched Thr3e which, dispute its lame acting, wasn't that bad but wasn't great either. The real unwatchable movie was But I'm a Cheerleader.

I'm guessing tomorrow is going to be a day of working in the rain.

Bowling Alley Fuckfest

The bullet that is in my back under my shoulder blade started acting up yesterday and seems to be much worse today. Not sure if playing racquetball has aggravated it or if it is due to the rainy weather.

Finally went and saw the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Thought the movie was very good, had a good story and not overdone action.

Watched Transformers again last night with friends. Oddly I liked the movie a lot more the second time.

New Terminator movie is getting awful reviews but I'm hoping to see it this weekend anyway.

Finally decided to get the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven today. We have been wanting it for sometime. Cooked a nice meal for us this evening.

Had a manic Monday and so far it's been a manic Tuesday.

It's a very wet start of the day here. Hopefully it isn't a sign of us having a bad hurricane season.

We finally found someone new with a gym membership to play racquetball with. The three of us played for about an hour when she fell and twisted her ankle really badly. She is home today unable to walk so I guess it is back to just Christy and I playing racquetball.

I got a really huge envelope with an oil lease inside for a small amount of land that I still own half the mineral rights to. I sold the property over 30 years ago but kept ownership of my half the mineral rights. My grandfather won the property in a poker game before I was born and I had long ago forgotten all about owning still owning the mineral rights. After reading the lease I'm not even sure it is worth the trouble of getting close to one hundred pages notarized. On top of that I was sent the lease papers for California but I need lease papers for Florida since that is where I live.

Called my insurance broker and find out why my home owner's insurance includes snow, hail, and freezing protection as my house has about the same chance of seeing snow as hell freezing over. It also has volcano protection but last I looked that weren't a lot of volcanos in my neighborhood. I never did get a straight answer out of my broker but the best I can tell it's part of the standard homeowners policy so I can't save any money by removing snow and volcano coverage.

Sunday night we went out with a couple that we fixed up six months ago to celebrate their six month anniversary and played two games of pool that lasted over two hours. Did I mention that we all really suck at playing pool?

Another rainy morning today but the sun has finally come out but now it is a miserably hot and sticky out. Today is a good day to stay inside with the A/C blasting.

We finally made it to see Star Trek at IMAX. It was ok but not great. It's non stop action without a whole lot of story but the writers have rewritten the Star Trek universe using time travel so I guess we can look forward a whole new series of Star Trek movies. It was kind of kewl seeing Leonard Nimoy playing a very old version of Spock. I'm not positive but I think Leonard Nimoy has been in more Star Treks than any other actor.

We are thinking of going down to John Pennekamp Park to do some snorkeling for Christy's birthday. I haven't been there in many years but have found memories of it. For the past couple of days we have been look at snorkeling equipment for the trip and places to stay down in the upper Keys. You would think it would be easy being that we live so close and that I lived down there for almost a year but I know the lower Keys much better than the upper Keys.

Finally finished revamping the Shemale category over at Cleo's Links. It took me a bit over a week to break Shemales into 10 categories while cleaning out all the junk and dead links. Still haven't decided what category I'm going to do next.

Wanted to go see Star Trek the day it came out but my partner didn't so we ended up watching Milk. I lived in South Florida during the time the movie took place and moved to San Francisco right after Milk was killed so the movie was kind of interesting but Star Trek it wasn't. I'll probably go see Star Trek sometime this week while Christy is at work.

We were up late last night at a full moon drumming that was held by a Nigerian master drummer named Dele Adefemi. I learned how to play a musical instrument made out of a gourd and beads called a Shakere which was fun and great for someone with no musically talent like myself.

We had planned on getting up early this morning and hitting the beach but both of us overslept so didn't make it there until almost noon. It was a bit crowded but the water was warm enough to enjoy and a steady cool breeze made for a very enjoying day at the beach.

This evening we went for a nice bike ride over to WIlton Manors, hit a coffee and ate sinfully delicious fattening stuff.

I'm a bit sunburned, rather exhausted, and generally fried. Looking forward to a relaxing evening in the A/C and watching a movie at home tonight.

After the last couple, of really bad, Star Trek movies I wasn't planning on seeing anymore but this one looks like it might be good with a decent story. Christy has no interest in seeing anything with Star Trek in its name so I may be going alone but I'm still holding out hope that she might change her mind.

We never made it to see the X-Men movie Wolverine so that is also on the theater list.

The Obama Chia has gotten rather interesting looking. Nothing like the picture on its box but kind of kewl in a bazaar kind of way.

We are planning on playing racquetball this evening after Christy gets off work. Hopefully I'll work off some of this pizza that still has me feeling way too stuffed.

Now I remember why I don't drink.

I still kind of feel like crap but made it to the gym anyway.

Started selling a new product today that has nothing to do with porn. It's called Blu Electronic Cigarettes. Being a non smoker I can't personally say if they are all that is promised but my friends that have tried them seem to like them. If nothing else it seems like a way to get one's cigarette fix in places that don't allow smoking plus it costs a lot less then a real cigarette.

Going to try to make it to see the new X-Men movie Wolverine tonight. Not really sure if we will actually make it or not but that is the plan.

Hit the beach early Sunday morning. The water is still too cold to enjoy but the beach was lovely despite it being a bit breezy. Got a little sunburned but nothing to worry about. We might go again late this afternoon.
