OMG, it's Tuesday, not Saturday, that explains so much.

I actually titled my blog entry yesterday TGIF thinking it was Friday and then this morning I asked Christy if she was working thinking it was Saturday and maybe she didn't have to go in.

It's after 8 pm here and I still have yet to get dressed. I've been setting up, debugging, and creating a workflow for the network of blogs that we are creating. It feels invigorating to be going in a fresh direction but fuck this is a lot of work.

I think the first thing I'm doing after this project is done is raking a nice relaxing vacation.

Watched a rather bizarre but good movie called He Was A Quiet Man yesterday, loved the twist at the ending.

Fuck my arms hurt. Spent yesterday afternoon installing a sodium floodlight over our driveway. It was one of those little projects that turned into a whole lot more work then it seemed at first. Now I understand why electricians get paid so much to do stuff like this. It's nice not coming home to a dark driveway as it can be turned on and off from our iPhones.

Woke up with a sore throat and a slight ear ache feeling like I've caught a slight cold again.

I guess waking up feeling like I'm getting sick again was a sign of what today would be like as so far today is one of those days that you just hope to make it through for a better day tomorrow.

Christy left for work through our garage and one of the 5" bolts that hold the hurricane bracing came out and disappeared (not sure how a 5" bolt can vanish) resulting in the whole door coming off its tracks and jamming halfway up. Borrowed a bolt from the middle of one of the bottom braces to replace the missing one at the top and got the door back on its track. We both got covered in door grease and dirt but at least it is fixed. Guess I'll be running over to Home Depot to pickup a bolt this week to replace the missing one.

This afternoon I did a rsync to one of my domains and then realized that I had synced an out of date directory so now I've got a second rsync taking place for last night's backup. Trouble is last night's backup has the older versions of the stuff that I did today so after that sync is done I'm going to have to manually upload the files from today's work.

Since the weather has gotten nice again we thought today would be a good day to go over to the park and start playing racquetball again. We went over to the park only to discover a bunch of major events taking place including more people on the racquetball courts then I've ever seen there so we turned around and came back home.

At least my iPhone didn't go dead on me today but the battery on the 3G iPhones really isn't all that great so I ordered an external battery pack for it. I've been looking at all my options and already carry a car/house charger but wanted something that I could plug the iPhone into to charge when that isn't a source of power near buy. It should be here next week.

Now that we can control the X10 stuff around the house from our iPhones I've been adding in even more devices. We are loving being able to turn on the outdoor security lighting from down the street and coming home to a well lit yard. I ordered some more X10 appliance modules today so that I can add a couple more flood lights to the yard. I'm amazed at how well all of this is working and all thrown together really cheaply using mostly stuff that we already had laying around the house. It's too bad my rich neighbor Jim didn't live to see this as he was always buying all kinds of really expensive automation stuff that never worked all that well.

Going to watch the final episode of Life On Mars tonight. The show started out pretty good but seemed to loose its way but at least they are supposedly going to end it properly with this episode.

It actually stopped raining and the weather got beautiful today. Hopefully it will stay this way for a few days although we really do need the rain.

Did the gym this today along with setting up the X10 commander on my iPhone. The server part is Windows only so I have it running under Parallels on the Mac mini that is part of our home entertainment center. It's super nice being able to control the lights and stuff around our house from my iPhone. It looks like the days of universal remotes are numbered replaced by much better apps on the iPhone.

Had some friends over Friday night for the final episode of Battlestar Galactica so didn't get to sleep until late.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ending and thought it was excellent except the whole leaving technology behind was a bit hard to accept. I wonder how they are doing in a few months with no booze, toilet paper, antibiotics, running water, or any of the things we crave after a couple of days camping. I sure hope that they at least brought along some space axes or something to cut down some trees and make some shelter.

I wonder if there we be a spinoff of the Cylons coming to visit modern earth to say hi to the artificial life that we will probably create in the coming years?

Went out clubbing last night for the first time in a very long time. Had a decent time but being as I'm a non drinker non smoker it's a bit hard dealing with all the smoking drunks. Would probably have stayed out longer but the club I was in wouldn't let you back in unless you paid ten bucks a piece again and we needed some quiet smoke free time outside of the club so we just went home.

Today we met up with a group of friends over at PrideFest in the park up the street. Had a pretty good time and bumped into a few people that I haven't seen in years.

Did the gym thing this morning once I was caffeinated and then we were suppose to do the Tequesta drum circle tonight but our weather has been rainy the last few days so decided to skip it since the park will be muddy and full of mosquitoes and instead have a few friends over for a night of SciFi. Going to find out what John Connors put in the box and then watch the final episode of Battlestar Galactica.

Went and saw Caroline in 3D Wednesday night. The movie was fantastic but the whole movie theater experience fucking sucked green slimly donkey dicks. There was a kid in the theater who had Autism and talked, clapped, scrammed, and basically ruined the whole movie for everyone in the theater but the worst part was in our process of trying to get as far away from this kid and his parents, who didn't see a problem with bringing their disruptive kid with Autism to a movie, Christy somehow lost her iPhone.

Got to spend most of yesterday fighting with AT&T to get a discount on a replacement iPhone. In the end we still had to pay $399 for the replacement but got a credit on our AT&T phone bill of $70. At least it was the old beat-up iPhone that got lost and not the new 3G model. Now both our phones look identical and we have already grabbed each other's iPhones by mistake.

Had my finally Spanish class last night. Learned a lot although I still can only speak simple things like telling the time. Going to do some studying on my own for awhile and then I'll probably take some more classes.

The DSL saga continues but I think this is the end. AT&T switched the data path to interleave and lowered the download speed. Last tech had a load coil changed out on my line at the central office. Looks like between 2 to 2.5 megs download and 384kb upload is the best I'm going to get but at least I don't seem to be losing sync anymore so I can start Rsync before going to bed at night and wake up to everything being on my server. Guess I can live with this until U-verse is available where I live.

Finally made it out to the Coconut Creek Hard Rock Casino. I'm told that the one in Hollywood is nicer but as I don't gamble and not into eating food until I look like a blimp I'm not sure that I would enjoy that one anymore then this one. Needless to say I was bored half to death and was glad when our little outing was over but at least now I can say I've been there.

Came home and watched the Sara Conners Chronicles and the Battlestar Galactica. Had to believe that next week's episode is the serials final of Battlestar Galactica. Is it Friday the 20th yet...

Another tech, this time a woman, came out this afternoon. She was suppose to come out this evening when the issues get much worse and naturally when she was here the DSL was working fine. She did say that there is issues on the line however and that a line tech will be coming out agin tomorrow.

I noticed that my Data Path has been changed to Interleave and that I'm not losing sync as much but my speed has dropped way down.

Hopefully tomorrow the line tech will get everything working but at this point I've all but given up.

Besides DSL issues I seem to have come down with a mild cold so hoping tomorrow will be a healthy DSL issue free day.

Up early again for the fucking AT&T fucking tech so that this fucking Bellsouth DSL can be fucking looked at fucking again. Last tech came out and switched out F1 and F2 and made it much fucking worse. I'm about ready to say fuck Bellsouth/AT&T's fucking DSL and go back to fucking Comcast which wasn't all joy either but at least didn't go down dozens of fucking times each fucking day and at least was fast when it was working. Fuck, fuck, fuck!

Ironically if I go back to Comcast and leave Bellsouth as a backup ISP I still come out financially ahead with all of special offers and rebates that I got/will get.

Not sure what I'm doing tonight but I'm pretty sure it wont involve anything that uses the internet.
