Eat, work, school. Repeat again in 168 hours.
Just two more weeks of Spanish classes left. I've gotten a much better understanding of Spanish with all of its to be verbs and and everything having a gender and how the verb must match the gender. Still can't form a decent sentence but my vocabulary is slowly growing and I've gotten pretty good and telling what time it is when asked.
I seem to be on a knowledge quest all of a sudden...
Been using the CL a lot more on the computer lately As a result I'm finally starting to grasp using the CL in a Tcsh shell in that I'm not just copy and pasting cryptic strings but rather actually comprehending what the commands do and coming up with my own strings.
An a side note learning to read and write Spanish is making my spelling in English much worse.
Time to kick back and relax.

I've had the windows are open all day listening to the macaws squeaking non stop. I figure that either my neighbors like birds or they hate me for having birds. Not really sure which since I just about never interact with my neighbors.
Had planned on running a few errands but never made it out of the house are even got dressed today. On the plus side I got a lot of work done and also now have clean clothes to wear.
Didn't help that I once again spent hours messing with the setup of my new AT&T DSL but everything does seem to be working perfectly. I even found a setting in the Netopia DSL Router for QoS so now the Vonage still sounds good even when I'm doing huge file transfers.

Big Round Ass Priming
Naturally when I needed to upload a huge movie update my internet went up and down all weekend.
You would think that since I live in a very nice neighborhood right next to Fort Lauderdale beach that I could get decent internet but my choices are unreliable and not all that fast Comcast or somewhat more reliable but not all that fast DSL. As the utilities are being being upgraded around me nothing is reliable for the past several months.
I'm told that by the end of this year AT&T will be upgrading the copper in my neighborhood and then I'll be able to get the Extreme 6.0 DSL. Also Verizon FiOS is suppose to be coming soon.
Went to the Renaissance Festival Saturday and had a good time at least so this weekend wasn't a total loss.

Went over to the local Office Depot a bought the Epson WorkForce 600 Wireless All-in-One Printer for the same price as Amazon for the people that I do business with who still live in the stone age fax documents. I really hate faxes but since I had an unused phone line carrying our DSL I figured I might as well hook up something that could receive faxes for few that seem to be email impaired. Plus I wanted something that was cheaper to print on then our Lexmark C532n color laser for stuff that quality doesn't matter. So far this new printer is amazing for the price. It's great being able to scan and print from any computer wirelessly and the speed is amazing for an inkjet. I was surprised that it doesn't allow faxing from the computer and that you have to print and then scan it back in to fax something but since I almost never fax anything it doesn't matter.

Toy Using Young Cuties
Woke up with a headache so took a shower before morning espresso and stupidly thought it would be a good idea to shave my legs not fully awake. Somehow managed to hit my right nipple with the head of the razor and put a big triple gash in it, blood all over the place.
Spent all day yesterday working the kinks out of my new AT&T DSL service. The service works great and I'm getting faster speeds then what I was suppose to get (1.8 megs upload) but their complete lack of documentation blows.
To setup authenticated smtp severs so that I could actually send email from anything except the never to be used username@att.net that is forced on you involved much Googling since their tech support is pretty much useless. Finally found out that to use smtp.att.yahoo.com but in order to use this with your own domain emails you first have to add them to the Yahoo control panel.
Then there was the issue of getting Vonage to play well with their service. I've always plugged the Vonage phone adapter into my router but with AT&T the phone would go dead after a few hours. After much more Googling I discovered that I needed to plug the Vonage phone adapter directly into the ADSL adapter and then log into the Vonage phone adapter to setup the PPoE and routing information and then put my wireless router into Bridge mode so that I didn't end up with double NAT.
Everything is working great now but how the fuck does AT&T expect the average user to figure all of this out?
Today, dispute being behind in work, I mostly spent time away from the computer going to the gym for a few hours and then practicing Spanish while taking a nice long relaxing bubble bath.
Getting ready to veg out on the catch with my partner and watch a movie or something.

Today I switched over to AT&T DSL. So far so good and the speed seems a lot faster despite the copper in my neighborhood being too old to get their fastest service. The best part is I'm not getting slowdowns in the evening when the my neighbors go online and start downloading porn or whatever it is that they download that caused Comcast to get painfully slow in the evening.
Last night went looking for a simple personal finance application that would take exports from the bank and turn them into pie charts. Found a really great free one called iCompta that can also sync with the iPhone via its companion iComptaMobile.
Did the gym earlier today and then spent most of the day working but took a break when a friend dropped by to pick up her tickets for the Renaissance Festival that we are all going to this weekend.

We had Spanish class tonight and didn't realize that I had left my purse in the classroom until we got home. Not sure if I forgot it because of lack of sleep or because I was carrying my books and it just didn't occur to me that I was forgetting it since I was already carrying something or maybe because I was freezing my ass off, needing to pee, and in a hurry to get home or maybe I'm just getting old and forgetful.

I was absolutely freaking out for the five minutes or so it took her to get back to the school classroom but luckily someone that worked at the school was just outside the classroom that was now locked and my purse was still on the floor next to the desk I was sitting at. They let her in and after asking her what the name was on the ID that was in the purse they let her have my purse.
I'm one of those women that carries a huge purse with my life in it and it would have taken my weeks to replace everything in it not to mention a lot of money as well. I'm still trying to relax and calm down...

I've had enough of Comcast and their over priced unreliable internet. Today I canceled the backup Earthlink DSL and ordered AT&T's DSL Xtream. The cooper in my neighborhood is too old for their DSL Xtream 6.0 but even so the speed I'll be getting isn't much slower then what the actual speeds are that we are getting from Comcast and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. The Earthlink DSL never went down so I'm guessing the AT&T DSL should be just as reliable since it's the same line and Earthlink was basically just reselling AT&T's DSL.

Had plans yesterday to get caught up in work and to study Spanish but then Christy got the day off so we went up to her parents for her father's 80th birthday and didn't get home until late so didn't get any work done.
