There is this huge bucket of Halloween candy sitting in our living room calling me. Hopefully we will get a bunch more trick or treaters before the munchies get the best of me and I end up eating candy until I puke.

Christine is super sick with a cold but so far all I've got is a slight case of the sniffles. Just hoping that I don't end up really sick too.

Got my car back again today. It's running fantastic and even steering properly too. Hopefully it isn't going to get lonely for the dealer again this year or anytime soon.

We sat down tonight and filled out our absentee ballots together. Personally I think this is a much better way of voting. We spent well over an hour making our choices and did research on the candidates using Google.

Chevy called me today to let me know that my car needs a Steering Angle Sensor. Wow a fucking surprise. I only have been saying this since I dropped it off last Sunday. Should be ready tomorrow at a cost of another $800 bucks. Guess I shouldn't complain too much. This is the first time it has needed any expensive maintenance this year and I don't have car payments.

Yesterday the Toyota dealer called saying that the bank had refused Christine's car loan. So we had to drive over there and produce more pay stubs showing that she makes more money then before. She has been driving her 2009 Scion TC for a few weeks now so the last thing the dealer wants is the car back. The loan officer seemed very happy that Christine was able to come up with pay stubs from her other job that she forgot to mention showing her making a bit more then the minimum that that bank would like her to be making for the loan. He said that the bank would be calling both her jobs to confirm so I guess I'll be getting a phone call sometime soon.

Our really huge absentee ballots arrived so we are going to spend sometime tonight or tomorrow filling them out together. It's three double sided pages and one single sided paper so I guess we are going to have to do some research on some of the choices.

Spent most of yesterday reupholstering our dinning room chairs and also redid the kitchen barstools in the same dark burgundy pleather. It was my birthday yesterday, not that I usually do anything special for my birthday.

My car is asking to be serviced telling me that its Steering Wheel Speed Sensor is failing again. I was going to go by the dealer today to make an appointment to have it fixed but got sidetracked for sushi and then ended up at Jo-Ann Fabrics looking at fabric to redo the cushions on our dinner room chairs. Took yesterday off and spent it relaxing and doing fun things with my partner. It was almost like a mini vacation although it did end much too soon.

Our bathroom scale seems to broken. Oddly it just seems to be broken when I step on it showing my weight going up and not down despite eating far less and staying away from foods that tend to put weight on me.

I know that I haven't been getting enough exercise. Actually I haven't been doing much of anything except working. I've been working about double what I was this time a year ago and making about half what I was making. On top of that the price of everything has gone way up.

Today at the gym, I really have to start going every other day like I was doing, I started doing the stairmaster again in addition to the treadmill and other machines that I normally do. Hopefully I can stay motivated to stick with it before I go from having put a little weight on to ending up a fat dyke.

Taking an Asian For a Test Drive

Another absolutely fucking beautiful day outside today. Had planned a little bike ride but then we got some light afternoon rain so instead did some trimming in our backyard.

There was the rather ugly weed like tree that has been growing on the east side of this house since I bought it. Before all the hurricanes I just let it grow wild and at one point it covered a good part of the roof. With each hurricane a few more limbs would break and some fell on the roof damaging it. So now I've been keeping it well trimmed, like all the trees around the house, so that nothing would come crashing down in a storm.

No matter much I trimmed it within a very short time it would shoot out winding branches all over that was more like a thick bush then a tree. Being that its trunk was still over six feet trimming it was a lot of work so I cut it down leaving just a three foot stump sticking out of the ground. This would probably kill most tress I would imagine but I doubt I've killed this one. My plans are to keep it well trimmed and keep it bush size now higher them the fence. If I'm lucky I'll end up with a kind of kewl bush growing on an old tree stump.

Weather has gotten nice and my life has gotten good again. I'd almost forgotten what it was like to feel happiness.

Finally got to take a little bike ride today. First time I've gotten to use the path tracker software I put on my iPhone. Kind of nice to see where you went and how many miles you did. The ride was just a short one but a very enjoyable ride. While riding around decided to stop by the Apple store to check out the trackpads on their new laptops. The new trackpad design turned out to be very nice once I got the hang of how it works. I also liked the backlit black keyboard but the glossy screen was hard to see under the overhead lights and don't even get me started on how Apple has ruined the lower end Macbook by removing Firewire and making it useless for most of the people that I know. Apple really needs to expand their hardware lineup or let their OS be put on non Apple computers.

Got all my work done for today and now I'm waiting for Christine to get home so that we can go grocery shopping. I feel an early end of the day in bed tonight while maybe watching a movie in tonight's plans.

Pitiful part of it is I got dressed to go to the gym and never even made it.

Today was one of those day that I was busy as hell and never got anything done that I had planned for today.

For some odd reason in the middle of the day I said fuck everything and went into the backyard and painted the bench that I made out of flower pots and decking. Had those tropical rain storms that the tropics are known for off and on all day with the sun poking out between rains.

I probably would have never even gotten dressed to if it wasn't for an agile tree-dwelling rodent with a bushy tail chewing a hole in the screen in our porch to feast on the bird's nuts and seeds.

We had really hoped on avoiding a lawsuit but with expenses mounting due to this accident I don't think we are going to have a choice. Hopefully the driver had insurance but by the way he looked I'm doubtful that he did.

The joys of dealing with people in the car repair biz and insurance companies.

Got up at sunrise to go over to the wrecker place to release Christine's car to Geico.

Geico was a pure pleasure to deal with. This is my second time dealing with them and both times Geico customer service has been outstanding.

The wrecker place was what you would expect from a wrecker place. They offered to knock a few hundred off the deductible off if they did the repairs. To their credit they had a first rate repair facility with all the latest stuff that was full of high end cars having major damage repaired. What wasn't so good was how shady they got when we decided to let Geico do the repairs. Things like losing the car key, delaying the release with paperwork red tape, bad mouthing Geico, and just making themselves seem completely untrustworthy. Geico didn't have anything good to say about them either.

Not sure if the car is totaled or not. They started stripping it down already and actually it doesn't look so bad under the external panels. We should know in a day or so if it will be total loss or not. She is really happy that I talked her into getting gap insurance as she is upside down in her loan just in case it does turn out to be totaled.

Geico gave her a PT Cruiser at a great rate that is costing her next to nothing after her coverage pays their part and even is extending her coverage if the repairs take longer then what her policy covers. They did the same thing when I had my accident so I guess it is standard practice for them.

She is really sore all over and still kind of out of it so went to the doctor today who naturally sent her to get a xray and a cat scan. My cynical side figures the doctors want to milk this for all that they can but I am happy that she is getting checked out.
