My abs, shoulders, and just about anything above my waist is sore but it is that good kind of sore you get from working out.

Not that I'm getting really that concerned about the storms on each side of this big sand bar that I live on but it is a real reality check for staying prepared and stocked with supplies this time of year.

Keeping things in perspective these storms are tiny compared to the ones back in 2003 and 2004.

Today was a pretty boring day even for my life. Ate, worked, ran errands, watched The Bucket List.

Newbie Glass Dildo Lessons

Went for my longest kayak trip yet and did about 8 miles or so on a four hour night trip.

We left at George English Park in a tandem kayak. It was our first time kayaking at night. Surprisingly it wasn't nearly as dark as I thought it was going to be but dark enough that you could only see the running lights of approaching boats, The city lights made for beautiful refections on the water and watching the sun go down as we were paddling was an awesome sight. One of the really great things about doing is a night paddle is no hot sun to deal with and very few boats.

I'm totally exhausted and laying in bed now but so sore that I'm not sure how well I'll be able to sleep.

Unbearably hot and muggy today so I've tried my best to stay indoors in the A/C.

Ran some errands this morning, wow I buy a lot of pet supplies, and then spent the day editing vids.

Didn't we just do this? Here comes tropical storm Gustav. I'm so over these storms. The reality is no one knows what they are going to do other then to say what direction it is headed at the moment but the media makes such a big deal out of each one. I'll probably pick up some more gas if it gets closer but I enter each season prepared for the worst and hoping for the best.

Ordered a couple of speaker stands from Amazon today. I've placed the left and right surround sound speakers everywhere that was posable without using stands but with the TV in the corner and a window on each side there just isn't anyplace to place them that sounds good.

Watched Before the Devil Knows You're Dead tonight. The acting is first rate, the movie unfolds in flashbacks with almost unbearable dramatic tension. Very disturbing and very captivating.

Just got a phone call from an old stripper friend of mine that needs a place to stay for a few nights. She is coming down tomorrow to dance at the club up the street.

Went kayaking around 9 am this morning around Wilton Manors. We've gotten bored with the Wilton Manors paddle but there was a MeetUp group this morning there.

The Wilton Manors paddle is a scenic paddle with lots of iguanas along the way and only a few miles from where we live. We only stayed out a short time before the heat and boredom of the familiar got the better of us but it was nice if not brief.

We really need to get our own kayaks so that we can paddle other places besides areas with rentals. Trouble is neither of our sports cars can tote kayaks. So first we need to get something that can tote a few kayaks. I'm considering getting a used Jeep next year after Christine finishes interning and goes back to work full time. I don't mind if the exterior is a bit beat up but with a decent interior and canvas. Should be fun to take the top off and going to the beach or for toting bicycles or kayaks.

Planning a relaxing evening at home tonight. A few friends are joining us and we are going to make it a movie night.

Seems Fay has finally left. We actually had blue skies today and no rain.

Now we get to deal with mosquito hell due to all the rains. I went out back and trimmed a tree so that I would have fresh branches for the birds and about got eaten alive.

We seem to be out of just about everything since we have pretty much just been hiding out waiting for the rains to stop. Had to hit three grocery stores today plus make an online order to restock the house and tomorrow I'm going to hit the pet store to pickup macaw seed and also go by the drug store for personal hygiene type stuff.

Besides trimming trees, tending to the animals, had my laptop rendering movies all day for updates to Ana's site. Ana has hired a talented art student to shoot and edit her vids and the results are top notch. Putting one a week up for the next six weeks.

Hoping that the weather is nice tomorrow morning as we are going to try to get some kayaking in.

It has been a busy day of work and errands while dealing with the rain.

Needed a break from my routine so attacked the house needs to do list. Oddly while at Home Depot I found a table uplight accent lamp for under 20 bucks that fit my needs very well. I put a directional halogen spotlight in it so that it floods the ceiling with light instead of radiating through the sides of the shade and I may disconnect its internal touch dimmer so that I can put a dimmer remote on it since it is in a corner and not convenient to operate.

While I was out the left turn light went out on my Vette. It's a bit over 10 bucks for the bulb and no one but GM seems to have it in amber so I got to spend time today in the Chevy parts department. I should have know that it was going to go out since the right hand one went out lat week and used up my spare bulb. I've learned how to reach my hand through the air scoop and change it instead of unbolting the access panel but it is still a bitch to do. These bulbs are also the Vette's running lights and are always on so burn out often. Why do I own this car again?

Watched a movie called The Magdalene Sisters. I have complete disdain for organized religion so watching this movie was very difficult. It really paints a raw harsh visual of just how fucked up the Roman Catholic Church really is. It's a good movie with some great acting but very disturbing.

Overcast with some rain but the storm known as Fay has come and gone.

Finally got power back yesterday evening. Even got the very friendly electric crew to try to fix the street light on my property that has been broken for a very long time. They changed its bulb but it needs a new sensor too so it is still blinking on and off all night.

Got a lot of work done yesterday, aren't generators wonderful, so taking a bit of time for myself today, hit the gym and then did some yard work.

Power is back out, running our generator again. I can see one leg of the transformer burnt off and dangling in the air. We have kept all of our trees trimmed but our neighbors have not and their palm hit the power line.

Windy and rainy still but nothing too bad, about the same as a normal rainy afternoon. Rain has kept the temps down so the ceiling fans are enough to keep comfortable around the house but very happy that we have A/C in the bedroom.

FPL says that we will have power before the end of the day so thankfully this has turned out not to be too bad at all, being prepared has had a lot to do with it.

For the last two days if it could go wrong it did.

Logged into my bank account yesterday and saw that someone has stolen my debit card number and is buying porn memberships with it so I call the bank and while I'm on hold go to take a piss and drop when of my house phones into the toilet. Went to the grocery store last night and bought a few weeks worth of extra groceries in case Fay comes for a visit as something more then just a topical storm. Got up insanely fucking early. Christine started back to school this week and she gets up at 6am for it. I usually I try to stay somewhat asleep but I got up with her this morning since the DirecTV installer was suppose to be here between 8 and noon to put in HD.

Naturally the installer didn't show up by noon and when I called DirecTV to bitch they gave me a $100 credit. Installer finally showed up around 4 pm but didn't know he was suppose to also move my old Tivo into the bedroom. Called DirecTV again to bitch and they gave me a $10 a month credit for the next six months after I agreed to have the installer come back next month to finish moving the old Tivo to the bedroom.

So I made $160 for bitching a lot and other then having the Tivo only half installed everything seems to be working great. The new non Tivo DVR doesn't seem that bad but it is nowhere as friendly as the Tivo was.

Can't wait to have the installer come back next month to finish and probably have to go through installer hell again...

Morning started off hot and raining but by this afternoon it actually wasn't that bad to go outside.

Once I was caffeinated I hit the gym and actually was able to do a real workout. Then after doing some computer work I grabbed my electric pole saw and trimmed a tree in my backyard.

The last few that have been sent here barely spoke English and wanted to run the cables across my ceiling. I didn't really like where my existing dish is installed so going to try to get the new dish installed on the side of my house instead of up on the chimney where it is now but I have a feeling the installer is going to want to install the new dish where the old dish is. Back when I had the existing dish installed my house was under a tree canopy so the chimney was the only place the dish had a clear view of the sky but two years of hurricanes has pretty much removed all the trees so I'm thinking of having the dish mounted on the side of my house where it would be much more protected against the wind.

Sunny start of the day but our usual afternoon storms came for a visit

Finally seem to be feeling myself again but now my partner seems to be getting the same strange symptoms that I had for a few weeks before I got really sick.

Just a day of work and errands. I'm super behind on everything due to feeling like crap for about a month.

Took a break to watch the last two episodes of Weeds with friends. It seems like they are using the same script as in last season but in a new setting, kind of like the way it was done in Back To The Future. So far I'm liking this season but watching it in SD on this new HD TV sucks. DirecTV is coming on Thursday to put their POS HD DVR in, going to miss the refinement of the TiVo, but it will be nice to be able to watch Weeds in HD next week.

Never made it out of my house yesterday so at the top of today's agenda was to actually make it out of the house, go to the gym, and take care of some errands.

Made it to the gym at least. Wow I've gotten out of shape but at least I'm finally working out again.

Spent most of the afternoon and evening learning and then teaching FoxyAngel how to use Garageband so that she could add music tracks to her movies. She seemed to pick it up pretty quick but I do hope her music talent is better then mine.

My partner almost fell for a ebay/paypal phishing scam this morning. The only thing that saved her ass is that the password autofill utility that we use wouldn't fill in her info because it didn't recognize the url. I found out this morning when she came in asking me what the utility wasn't working. Can't tell you how many times I've told her to check the url very carefully before entering personally information.

Still taking it easy while taking the last two days of this Z-Pak and getting over the remainder of this Cold but I've been doing a little bit of home maintenance. We had a couple of water spots on the ceiling from the A/C duct sweating so I injected some canned foam around the spots and then cleaned it up and repainted. Hopefully this will fix it without me having to craw up in the attic.

Our bedroom and patio roof is a flat roof addition that gets hot in the summer sun so going to go up on the roof next week and put a coat of Silver Dollar Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating on the flat part of our roof in an attempt to cut back on the afternoon heat gain from the sun.
