Birds, lots of birds...
Been fixing up bird cages today. The Hyacinth Macaw that I am taking care of has been plucking his feathers for sometime. The cage that Bill kept him in had no toys, branches, or anything at all for him to chew on and play with although Bill did say that he took him out often. I've got set him up in parrot wonderland with lots of toys, branches, and stuff to keep him amused so I'm hoping that he will stop plucking. Tomorrow I'm going to cut up even more branches and add a fruit tray. I went over to the pet store and bought vitamin fortified pellets to mix in with their seed since Bill said he has been feeding them only rice and beans (not sure why he was feeding them rice and beans) that he cooked each morning for him. Also picked up a few more food dishes since now there is three Macaws in one huge cage. The Blue and Gold Macaw seems to be in very good heath but is not as friendly. I'm hoping that my macaw and the new macaw will become good friends but the Hyacinth I think will end up more of a house pet. He really is like a small dog.
Other then being a zoo keeper it has just been a day of errands and work with the occasional break from work when friends drop by.
