Another day older
My new friend, who works evenings, has been stopping by in the morning. It's nice having someone to chat with over morning coffee. I'm going to play racquetball with her before she goes to work tomorrow morning, weather permitting. I just wish I was half as good as she is at playing but she does say that I've gotten much better.
Hit the gym this afternoon and then came home intending to cut branches for the birds but it started raining so instead cleaned my patio and finally threw out the old rusted Coke machine that I've been dragging around for years to make room for the huge bird cage that came with the macaws. My place is starting to look like a zoo. Hopefully no one else that I know will die and leave me there pets.
As I was dragging the old pile of rust that once was a Coke machine out to the trash I reflected on the fact that the last few months I've found myself throwing away a lot of junk that I've been hanging onto for many years. Not sure why after all this time I've now chosen to rid myself of this crap but I do find it a very liberating experience. I think we become trapped by the junk we hang onto and learning to let go of it frees us.
My Greek girlfriend and I went out for sushi at my favorite place Tee Jay Sushi. I've been eating there so much lately that no mater which section I sit in or what time of day the food server knows what I'm going to order.
